GO IOWA!!!

That's not a line from a song. Do I lose?

Iowa beat Iowa State. My new hat is omcredible. I adore my friends. I'm really worn out. I played touch football with some friends. Couldn't catch the ball. It was fun. Here's a picture of me and my pseudo-brother wearing nice hats to highlight the sibling rivalry. It's hard to see mine, though. Oh well.

Being on a side is way more fun than being neutral. It gives you something to be excited about. That's a good thing, I am pretty sure.

Tomorrow I need to bring slip-on shoes and a cellphone to church. NO ONE LET ME FORGET. That would be kind of not good. I need that stuff for a skit I'm in.

I should write a song. About what? Hmm. I don't know. We'll see. Sometimes it's nice to just make something up as you go along until you have something solid, and then just build on that. Maybe that's what I'll do.

I'm worn out. TEE TEE WHY ELL.

Mara, I used to be able to write music. But then my dad told me it was a waste of time, and I haven't been able to write since. I have written a couple of hymns, but that is all.

That inhales sharply. I do not know what to do about that.

Have you read any of my hymnody, though?

Thanks for that vote of confidence, Mara.

I think I am going to (try) to get involved with the worship team at my school's IVCF (Inter-varsity Christian Fellowship). Which may be kind of interesting, due to my philosophy of the choice of worship music: in brief, I believe that, in addition to lifting us up emotionally towards God, the music we sing should actually teach us something about His character and the great things He has done, both for us and for His people through the ages, and in Creation, and should aim to reinforce those truths in our minds. It's not blatant emotionalism or dry intellectualism, it's a happy medium between the two. Ideally, anyway. ;-) And we know how ideals usually work out.

Happy mediums do not always end up being very happy in the end. [/cryptic]

Oh, but I should add that I talked a little bit about that with Allison, who plays piano at IVCF, and she agrees with me.

That's a really good picture of you. Really. I mean that, little sister. :)
